PLDT Inc. (“PLDT”) and Smart Communications Inc. (“SMART”) (“We”, “Us”), through its Enterprise Business Group (the “EBG”) respect your fundamental right to privacy and we commit to take great care in safeguarding your personal data. As you submit your registration for your Subscriber Identity Module (the “SIM”) in compliance with Republic Act No. 11934, we share with you the principles that govern how your personal data will be collected, processed, and shared.
Why we collect your Personal Data
PLDT and SMART jointly provide and operate the following Fixed-Wireless Enterprise Services that have SMART SIM Cards embedded and/or provisioned onto devices to enable voice-only services, data-only services, or both, depending on your Service's features.
Corporate Subscribers of any of the following Fixed-Wireless Enterprise Services are therefore required to register the corresponding SIM Cards that power your Service’s connectivity:
As a juridical entity, your company’s Authorized Signatory must register the SIM Cards on your company’s behalf. The information needed to register the SIM Cards are already existing in PLDT’s account records. To initiate the registration process, your Authorized Signatory must simply confirm his/her existing Personal Data in PLDT’s records (Full Name, Company Name, and Business Address).
Once your company’s Authorized Signatory successfully signifies his/her confirmation of the Personal Data in PLDT’s records, the following data will be shared electronically by PLDT to SMART, as the Public Telecommunications Entity (“PTE”) that powers the SIM Cards and wireless connectivity, in order to register your SIM Card/s pursuant to the SIM Registration Act:
Within five (5) business days thereafter, your company’s SIM Registration Certificate will be provided via email through your Authorized Signatory.
SMART shall retain your Personal Data in its SIM Registration Database throughout the duration of your subscription to the Service/s, and for a period of ten (10) years after your Service is terminated or your SIM deactivated.
Why is your personal data shared
Your Personal Data will be processed and stored in systems and databases provided by Salesforce.com (“Salesforce”).
We have also engaged the professional services of Capgemini Philippines Corp. (“CapGemini”), to whom we have outsourced the maintenance operations of our Customer Relationship Management system. On our behalf, CapGemini performs activities such as Technical Support and System enhancements.
Salesforce and CapGemini (collectively, our “Service Providers”) may only process your Personal Data in connection with the above purposes for which they have been engaged. When your Personal Data is shared with them, we ensure that it is done on a confidential basis, through secure channels, and in compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations. Only personnel with a need-to-know will have access to your Personal Data.
How is your data protected
The integrity, confidentiality, and security of your Personal Data is important to us. This is why we strictly enforce this Privacy Notice and have implemented technical, organizational, and physical security measures that are designed to protect your information from unauthorized or fraudulent access, alteration, disclosure, misuse, and other unlawful activities. Your Personal Data is also protected from other natural and human dangers.
We likewise require all our Service Providers to implement the same security measures.

If you believe that your data privacy rights have been violated in the processing of your Company’s SIM Registration, we encourage you to contact the Company’s Data Privacy Officers to seek resolution of your complaint. Your rights hereunder are in addition to your rights under the Data Privacy Act of the Philippines. You also have the right to go directly to the National Privacy Commission or to make a claim against SMART before a competent court.
