Manila, Philippines [17 October 2020]—As part of its continuous efforts to push for an empowered education industry towards digital learning, PLDT Enterprise announces its partnership with De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) to support the university’s e-learning initiatives.

Through the partnership, DLSU-Dasmariñas will leverage on 1,500 lines of PLDT Enterprise’s Smart Giga Study plans bundled with pocket WiFi devices which its students can use for e-Learning. The SMART Giga Study Plan provides open data allocation that will enable both teachers and students to smoothly conduct online classes.

“Our partnership with DLSU-Dasmariñas is a testament to our commitment to enable the academe sector with the means to empower students through e-Learning. We are thankful for the trust they have given us and we remain keen on looking for solutions to further fortify their set-up,” said Jovy Hernandez, ePLDT President & CEO and SVP & Head for PLDT and Smart Enterprise Business Groups.

This ensures DLSU-Dasmariñas’ students have data access during their online classes. The Giga Study plan also lets students enjoy data allocation which will be used for learning applications authorized by their school administration.

The partnership is part of the Connectivity Assistance for Responsive Education (CARE) Project of DLSU-D wherein connectivity devices were provided to all DLSU-D freshmen, student scholars and other in-need students. The project also includes a connectivity support component for other students as well as DLSU-D employees.

“With generous data allocation and access to useful academic suites and various other learning management systems, students and teachers get the best possible educational materials for uninterrupted e-learning,” said Dick Perez, PLDT Enterprise Corporate Relationship Management Head.

PLDT Enterprise has also previously announced its partnership with De La Salle University Taft and De La Salle Lipa for its e-Learning initiatives, providing the necessary connectivity and e-Learning tools for faculty and students.

“Our faculty and students are confident that the shift to digital learning will be smooth and not be as challenging, with our partnership with PLDT Enterprise,” according to Leo Manansala, Director Of Alumni Relations and Placement Office for DLSU-Dasmariñas.

“Our students will get a Smart Sim and pocket wifi device with monthly data allocation which they can use for both online classes and accessing websites for e-learning.”

PLDT Enterprise aims to redefine the future of learning through its continuous engagement with universities, colleges, and other learning institutions such as DLSU-Dasmarinas so no learner is left behind.
