Manila, Philippines [20 August 2020]– Realizing that online learning is the way of the future given the current circumstances, Holy Cross College (HCC) makes the shift to e-Learning through the support of PLDT Enterprise.

Just recently, Holy Cross College introduced its e-Learning Management system, which will give students and faculty members fast and reliable access to all the learning materials that they need using the said platform.

PLDT Enterprise, together with its ICT arm ePLDT, is helping Holy Cross College make the smooth transition to e-Learning through its cloud and communication services. With the partnership, the school launched its HCC Heart Cloud system—powered by ePLDT’s Microsoft Azure Stack—that will allow students and parents to check their grades online without having to physically go to the school.

The HCC Heart Cloud was launched on May 22, with the school’s 3,815 students being able to log in successfully and with 2,400 PDF downloads being made during its first two days online.

Key personnel and full-time teachers of HCC were also given free mobile phones connected to Smart, coupled with unlimited calling and texting to all networks, and mobile data to support teaching and collaboration wherever they are.

According to Atty. Dennis Pangan, President of Holy Cross College in Pampanga, "With the Smart and ePLDT services for the mobile phones of the personnel and the internet and server of the school, HCC was able to have a headway in the region in delivering quality education as shown by the increase in our enrolment. HCC is now ready to adapt to the distance learning modalities in educating our students. We were able to fly from the ground to the cloud to reach our students wherever they are."

Moreover, HCC also availed of Microsoft For Education A3 licenses for its 100 faculty members and over 4,000 students which they can utilize for better communication and collaboration during online learning.

“Beyond just providing platforms and products, our main aim is to enable HCC to give its students the best possible education they can have even in these trying times. And we at PLDT Enterprise are ready to support them with the digital services they need for e-Learning,” says Jovy Hernandez, ePLDT President & CEO and SVP & Head for PLDT and Smart Enterprise Business Groups.

With its goal is to support and uplift every student in every aspect, HCC will be rolling out new features over time, such as a library management system, which will allow students to access library materials online.

PLDT Enterprise aims to redefine the future of learning through its continuous engagements with universities, colleges, schools and learning institutions across the country so no learner is left behind.
